Happy Birthday Arnaud!
Joyeux Anniversaire ! :8Bparty:
Hey man, beautiful gallery! I was wondering if you could recommend me any day- and/or backcountry hikes in Mount Rainier National Park. :)
Well, there is plenty to do over there... The trail starting from Paradise is of course amazing, and it keeps going all the way to the top if you have the right equipment, guide, and two days. Other than that, there are good starting points everywhere. One of my favorite is the trail that starts at mirror lake and goes on top of Pinnacle Peak. On a clear day, you will have Mt. Rainier on one side, and be able to see Mt. Adams, St. Helen, and even Mt Hood in Oregon. Go to the Ranger station and let them advise you, I haven't even scratched the surface of what you can hike there. Enjoy!
Thanks a lot! Apparently we arrived way too early in the season. The backcountry wasn't open yet, the Paradise area was mostly closed as well. We did one small loop up there but the lady in the visitor center told us that it wouldn't be a good idea to hike up there because of severe avalanche danger. We ended up hiking almost all the trails around Longmire (Rampant Ridge, some of Wonderland Trail in both directions of the village, Comet Falls and Eagle Peak). It's sad that we couldn't hike in the Paradise area but I still enjoyed my time in the park. :)
Awesome, thank you so much! We will go to the Ranger Station as well but it's always nice to get some insider tips as well to have a better idea. :)
